OWANA Support for Historic Landmark Commission Voting Reform
The OWANA Steering Committee wrote a letter expressing their strong support for Item 98, changing voting requirements at the Historic Landmark Commission from a two-thirds super majority to a simple majority.
The City Council will hear Item 98 at the September 28 meeting. If you have the time, please consider attending the meeting at City Hall and signing up to show your support or testify in favor of Item 98.
OWANA Response to Aquatic Master Plan
In response to the release of the final draft of the Austin Aquatic Master Plan, the OWANA Steering Committee sent a letter to the Mayor and City Council [pdf] to discuss concerns about the potential closure of Old West Austin Pool, the oldest neighborhood pool in Austin, among other proposals.

June 2017 General Membership Meeting
The June 2017 General Membership Meeting will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Mathews School Cafeteria (906 West Lynn at West 9th).
The meeting will start early at 6:30pm so that neighbors can enjoy some live music with Three Dollar Bills. Agenda items include information from Chris Perri, a candidate for Texas’s 21st Congressional District, and Travis County Commissioner, Brigid Shea; zoning reports on cases at 910 Baylor and 802 Pressler; a discussion on residential permit parking; and an update on CodeNEXT.
